Can I retrieve my data if I leave Voltn?
Yes. Data portability is contractually guaranteed: in the event of termination, Voltn will return your archived data in a usable format, either via download or secure physical transfer.
Does Voltn Vault change the daily use of Voltn Workspace?
No. Your teams continue to work in Workspace as usual: tape replication happens in the background. This option requires the Voltn Private Cloud infrastructure to be enabled.
Can I increase my storage capacity?
Yes. The volume is sized according to your initial needs and can be expanded at any time in 100 GB increments, with an adjusted monthly billing. Multi-company storage, for a group or subsidiaries, is also available.
How does tape restoration work?
Archived data is restored to your Voltn space with the assistance of our Support team, within a timeframe determined by the volume to be restored.
How long is my data kept on tape?
As long as the Vault option is active, your data remains archived for a maximum period of 10 years. The physical lifespan of LTO media, which is 25 to 30 years, provides a comfortable margin throughout the duration of the service.
How does Voltn Vault protect against ransomware?
Cold tape backups are stored offline, meaning ransomware that compromises your information system cannot reach them. This provides an intact restore point, complementing the 3 real-time copies hosted in our data centers.
